Camera

So my maternal grandmuzzer decided that I need a camera, so that I can send her photomagraphs of stuff, so that she can see more of what I get up to. She gave me a nice shiny (metaphorically shiny, if not physically shiny) cheque for one hundred pounds of the realm, and instructed me to buy a camera with it. I'm not going to argue.

Dear readers, can you recommend cameras? My requirements:

  • It must be digital.
  • It should produce reasonable photos.
  • It should store stuff on a sensible medium. That means no Sony Memory Stick mingingness, or whatever. Something I could replace, and could trivially get a USB dongle for.
  • It should do USB mass storage, and maybe also do the magical camera protocol, whose name I can't remember, too.
  • If that magical protocol allows a computer to basically use it as a webcam, then that would be cool too.

Cool, cheers all.

(Oh, and I've decided that "shiny" is cool again, because they say it in Firefly.)
